I've loved legos since forever. It's been a massive factor in my urge to build worlds in my life and the lego sets still inspire me to this day. Recently I've been building a little bit more than the past few years and while scrolling and trying not to shop too much, I came across the motorised lighthouse kit. I do still have some sense and was not prepared to pay 300 euros for a lego set (at least not right now hehe), but I did really want to build that set. So I went experimenting with Bricklink Studio, which is a 3D software that grants you access to the lego brick library and allows you to build lego sets and even generate instructions. Once the lighthouse was built the logical next step for my brain was to bring it over to Unreal Engine for some sweet lighting and rendering. But before I could do that, I needed some water. Not some normal water; lego water! I tried a whole bunch of stuff with geometry nodes and water simulations in blender, but in the end, a simple Cinema4D cloner and waver shader effector did the trick.
Lego Company, if you see this; sponsor me free lego sets and I'll make more of these xoxo, Sam.
