Zia - 3D Character Animation - (Video) - Blender 2.91

Here is the short animated video I made with the 3D character I created over the past 2 months. This is the first time I've created and animated a self-made character. This was all done in Blender 2.91 and the animation is rendered in Eevee.

If you want to see more on this character, I've made a character creation workflow post on my artstation.

I decided on using Eevee to render the animation because the render time of cycles was on 7-8 minutes per frame, and with Eevee I got better results in the volumetric lighting. Only in the face of the character I think Cycles looks a little better, and I guess that's because of how Eevee renders Subsurface Scattering materials?

Anyway, I've included some other images in this post as well about the creation of this animation.

This is the only shot in the animation where I think a full render with cycles would maybe have been a better result than Eevee.

the first frame of the animation rendered with Cycles. Here you can see the big difference between the volumetrics, which are just so easy to create in Eevee.

This is a viewport test render to judge the movement of the character. You'll see that there is a little more happening at the end, than in the actual animation, which proved to be a little to hard to pull off for this first-time animator. maybe next time
