Dark Dreams, Pt1. Congregation - Scene in Unreal Engine 5.0EA

Dark Dreams, Pt1. Congregation.

I had been longing to get back and do some portfolio work, because I have been quite busy the past few weeks, and I was playing around with this idea of using very simple shapes or models to create some very atmospheric scenes, and then I watched a webinar on sending your Mograph animations from Cinema 4D to Unreal using the datasmith plugin and those 2 things sparked some ideas.

Congregation is Part 1 from a 3-part series of videos under the collective name of 'Dark Dreams'

As always I've tried to do some interesting things with Lumen in UE5. I find thanks to Lumen's GI it's so easy to light a scene and get some really satisfying results.

I'm a big sucker for the Imax filmback setting in Unreal Engine, and this time around I just could not choose. On YouTube I uploaded the 2.39:1 CinemaScope version, on Instagram the Imax version, and on artstation you get them both. Some shots work better in Imax, some better in CinemaScope. Making these shots and choosing what filmback I should use really makes me want to do more work for film...

I hope you enjoy this little scene! May it inspire you and if you want to see more than this, check out the rest of the artstation profile or youtube channel, subscribe or leave a nice comment or some constructive feedback!
