This is Zia. I've been wanting to create a character in 3D for a very long time now. Probably for as long as I've been doing 3D. Early on in the my first months trying 3D I've played around with Zbrush, and however that gave some cool (at the time) results, I wasn't informed enough about the whole character-creation process to go beyond the initial step of sculpting something. But then some one and a half year later, I was able to understand every step, from sculpting to rigging, from texturing, retopology to weight painting, to finally animating. A big help in this journey has been the 'Stylized character workflow'-tutorial series by Julian Kaspar on the Blender Cloud. ( https://cloud.blender.org/training/stylized-character-workflow/ ) And through hard work, finally, Zia was born.
The first ever walk-cycle I animated. There is still some timing-issues that cause twitching in her movements in her left leg and right arm. But overall I'm pretty happy with the result.
